Linda Bjork
Operations Manager, Public Safety Telecommunications
Linda is committed to public safety and truly cares about the public, the responders, the call takers and the dispatchers. Having spent five years as a Volunteer Firefighter and First Responder, she has experienced emergencies from both sides. Linda believes it takes a team to ensure we are providing the best service to all.
Linda, as part of the Emergency Communications Centre team, has received the Association of Public-Safety Communications Officials (APCO) Provincial Team Award in 2013 for their excellent work during the blackout from June 26 – 28, 2012 in Prince Albert and north. She holds several APCO certificates including Public Safety Telecommunicator, Fire Ground Communications, Supervisor’s Course, Emergency Fire Dispatch Certification, as well as Incident Command System Level 300.
In her role as Operations Manager, she is responsible for the overall management and administration of the Provincial Emergency Communications Centre, including all dispatch and call taking services and the Provincial 9-1-1 Public Safety Answering Point. She liaises with representatives from the various public safety agencies regarding voice communications and operations activity where applicable. She is also responsible for ensuring that all communication enhancements provide the highest possible level of public safety communications and is the lead for all Canadian Police Information Center related materials.
Linda loves music and knows how to play several instruments including drums and the guitar. She also enjoys snowmobiling, curling, and many other outdoor activities.
